Dr. Caroline Chin

MBBS (WA) DRANZCOG FRACGP

My special interests include Women’s Health, Preventative Medicine, Paediatric Medicine, Geriatric Medicine and Musculoskeletal Medicine.

I am passionate about maintaining a healthy holistic work life balance. I believe in living life well, perseverance and determination.

I have worked in general practice for more than 20 years and am married with 3 children. I am interested in helping you be your best self during all stages of life. I am engaged in all of life’s stages including sexual health, contraception, pregnancy planning and shared antenatal care, parenthood, childhood immunisations and illnesses, musculoskeletal medicine, menopause, preventative medicine and aged care.

I studied medicine at UWA, graduated in 1994 and trained at Royal Perth Hospital with secondments at Princess Margaret Hospital, Bunbury Regional Hospital and Swan Districts Hospital. I undertook special training at King Edward Memorial Hospital, obtaining a post graduate diploma in obstetrics and gynaecology before combining general practice with work at Family Planning WA and its youth and adolescent centre in Fremantle. I continued my interest in sexual and reproductive health in 2002 when I worked in the UK in Genitourinary Medicine and Family Planning UK. At that time I assisted in the Warwickshire Rheumatology Clinics and am a current member of Sports Medicine Australia.

Back in Perth I raised 3 children and have a keen interest in keeping active: I enjoy social netball and going to the gym. I have been working in general practice from the friendly offices at Floreat Medical for more than 10 years and do my best to provide welcoming, non-confronting, accessible advice and management to our patients.

I like to individualise evidence based scientific medicine to each person. My favourite things are food, wine, netball and complaining about my aches and pains!
